Setting up Smart TV step by step
You will need your IPTVhub username, password and server URL from your activation email. If you have not ordered yet, the 24-hour free trial gives you the same credentials at no cost.

Open your TV's app store
On Samsung press the Home button and choose Apps. On LG press Home and open the LG Content Store.

Install the player
Search for IBO Player or Smarters Player Lite and install it. Both are free to download; IBO charges a one-time activation of roughly $8 CAD, which we reimburse on 6 and 12-month plans.

Note your MAC address and device key
Open the app. It displays a MAC address and a device key on screen. Write both down. You will need them in the next step.

Upload your playlist to the device portal
On a phone or computer, visit the portal address shown in the app, enter your MAC and device key, then paste the M3U URL from your IPTVhub activation email. Save.

Reload the app on your TV
Close and reopen the player on the TV. Your full channel list and guide will appear. If you email us your MAC and device key we will complete this step for you.
That is it
Your channel list, the 7-day programme guide and the on-demand library are now available on your Smart TV. Remember that you can install on as many devices as you like, and only simultaneous streams count against your plan.
Worth knowing
Tips specific to Smart TV
These come from our support desk rather than a manufacturer datasheet. They are the adjustments that make a measurable difference in daily use.
Samsung TVs sold before 2017 run older Tizen builds and may not support current players. A $50 Firestick is the cheapest fix.
Turn off the TV's own motion smoothing (Samsung: Auto Motion Plus, LG: TruMotion) for live sports. It causes artefacting on broadcast feeds.
Set Picture Mode to Filmmaker or Cinema for VOD content and Standard for sports.
If your TV is more than four years old, streaming performance improves noticeably with an external stick.
If something goes wrong
Troubleshooting Smart TV
The three issues our support desk sees most often on this platform, and the fix for each.
Regional stores vary. Try the alternatives in order: IBO Player, Smarters Player Lite, Set IPTV, Duplecast. Contact support and we will tell you which one is live for your model.
The TV caches aggressively. Fully close the app (do not just press Back), unplug the TV for 30 seconds, then reopen.
Keys reset if the app is uninstalled. Reinstall, note the new key, and re-upload the playlist, or send us the new key and we will do it.
