Acceptable Use Policy

A short document setting out what you may and may not do with a subscription. It exists because a handful of behaviours degrade the service for everyone else, not because we want to police how you watch television.

1. Scope

This policy forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to every account, including free trials and reseller accounts. Where this policy and the Terms of Service differ, the Terms of Service prevail.

2. What you may do

To be clear about the wide latitude you have, because most policies of this kind only list prohibitions.

  • Install the service on as many of your own devices as you like. There is no device limit.
  • Use any compatible player application. We recommend particular ones, we do not require them.
  • Use the service from anywhere in the world. Accounts are not geo-locked and not locked to a single IP address.
  • Use a VPN. We do not block VPN traffic and we do not treat VPN use as suspicious.
  • Use the service at a second property such as a cottage, provided simultaneous use stays within your connection count.
  • Let members of your own household use the account.
  • Change devices as often as you want, with no cooldown period.

3. Credential sharing

Your credentials are for your household. Sharing them outside your household is the one restriction we enforce consistently, because it is the behaviour that most directly affects other subscribers.

Specifically prohibited:

  • Giving credentials to people outside your household, whether or not money changes hands.
  • Posting credentials on forums, social media, Telegram channels, paste sites or anywhere else public.
  • Selling or trading credentials.

Credentials found circulating publicly are revoked immediately and without refund. This is not negotiable, because a published set of credentials is used by hundreds of people within hours and degrades the servers everyone else is paying for.

4. Connection limits

Your plan includes one, two or three simultaneous streams. Exceeding that limit produces a message on the additional device and nothing more. Nothing is suspended and no account is flagged for hitting the limit normally.

What is prohibited is deliberate technical circumvention: proxying, stream splitting, restreaming to additional endpoints, or any other method of serving more concurrent viewers than your plan provides.

If you need more connections, upgrade. Upgrades are prorated and take effect within minutes.

5. Commercial and public use

A standard subscription is for private, residential use. It does not permit public performance.

Prohibited without a separate written agreement:

  • Display in a bar, restaurant, hotel, gym, barber shop, waiting room or any other commercial premises.
  • Use in a business to entertain customers or staff.
  • Display at a ticketed or public event.

This restriction exists because public performance carries a different set of rights obligations from private viewing. If you operate a venue and want to discuss it, write to sales@iptvhub.ca.

6. Redistribution and resale

Prohibited on a standard subscription:

  • Reselling access, in whole or in part.
  • Restreaming any channel to any other platform or service.
  • Recording and redistributing content.
  • Operating any service that provides third parties with access derived from your account.

If you want to resell legitimately, we operate a reseller program with a proper wholesale credit structure and a control panel. It is cheaper than doing it improperly and it does not get your account terminated.

7. Technical abuse

Also prohibited:

  • Attempting to access servers, accounts or systems you are not authorised to access.
  • Scraping, crawling or bulk-downloading the channel list, guide data or on-demand library.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling or attempting to extract stream keys or authentication mechanisms.
  • Any activity that places a disproportionate load on our infrastructure, including automated reconnection loops.
  • Using the service to transmit malware or to conduct any attack on a third party.

8. Content restrictions

The adult category is disabled by default on every new account. If you ask us to enable it, we will, and we will set a PIN.

You are responsible for supervising who in your household has access to it. If minors have access to a device on your account, use the PIN lock and the family profile available on three-connection plans.

Any attempt to use the service in connection with material that is illegal in Canada results in immediate termination without refund and referral to the appropriate authorities.

9. How we enforce this

Our approach is proportionate rather than automated.

  • Accidental or minor breaches: we contact you, tell you what we have seen, and give you the opportunity to correct it. Most cases end here.
  • Repeated or deliberate breaches: suspension pending a response from you.
  • Publicly posted credentials, resale, or technical circumvention: immediate termination without refund.
  • Illegal activity: immediate termination and referral.

We do not monitor what you watch. Enforcement is triggered by operational signals such as an implausible number of concurrent connections from geographically dispersed addresses, or by credentials appearing in a public source.

10. Appeals

If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, write to support@iptvhub.ca and explain the circumstances. We review every appeal, and we do reverse decisions when the evidence supports it. Include any context that might explain what we saw, such as a household member travelling or a device left running at a second property.

11. Your legal responsibilities

Nothing in this policy addresses whether your use of the service complies with Canadian copyright law. That is a separate question and it remains your responsibility.

We set out the legal landscape as honestly as we can in our article on whether IPTV is legal in Canada, and our position on copyright complaints is in our Copyright Policy. If your circumstances are unusual, speak to a lawyer rather than relying on anything written by a company selling you a subscription.
